Our innovative and new approach to food in aged care is driven by Canadian-born Executive Chef Todd Cheavins, a former Executive Chef at The Richardson Hotel in Perth.
Todd has cooked for many celebrities including Pink, Oprah, Pippa Middleton and even the King of Malaysia. For Todd, the most rewarding part of his job is sharing his knowledge and passion of creating good food for our aged care residents with his team of chefs.
BaptistCare WA, a not-for-profit aged care provider, has been Aurum’s largest client since 1995. Alongside the acquisition of Aurum, BaptistCare also acquired Aurum’s sister company, DCL Services. As a result of this transaction, Aurum’s corporate structure now operates under Gnocci Holdings Pty Ltd, acting as a trustee for The Gnocci Charitable Trust.
This transformation has made Aurum a “not-for-profit” organisation, channelling its surpluses back into the WA community through its parent, BaptistCare.
With over 27 years of experience, Aurum has become a leading provider of food services for aged care and healthcare facilities, schools, colleges, and community care organisations throughout Western Australia.
Aurum takes pride in producing and serving over 1 million meals each year, accommodating special diets and providing nutritionally balanced menus to cater to the specific needs of our clients.
Our current clientele includes 15 Aged Care facilities, both in metropolitan and regional areas of the state.
In addition to our core catering services, we have expanded our portfolio to include Facility Maintenance and Management. We recently entered into a long-term agreement with Baptistcare to provide these services across their state-wide property portfolio.
Emphasising our community relations policy, we actively source employees from the local communities where we operate, fostering a sense of belonging and commitment.
Our dedicated team of 220 staff members plays a pivotal role in Aurum’s success.
Operating from our support services office in Belmont, our experienced management team ensures the seamless execution of our operations. Their expertise guarantees that we maintain our commitment to providing top-notch services and continually meeting our clients’ evolving needs.
At Aurum, our vision is to consistently meet our clients’ needs by adding value and pioneering innovative on-site service delivery while remaining competitive in the market.
Our goal is to build a transparent and long-term partnership with our clients by working closely with them to ensure their residents receive excellent service.
We have a commitment to excellence reflected in our professional hospitality teams that focus on quality, current trends and food safety addressing key areas such as community relations, continuous improvement, employee relations, food safety, health and safety, and more.
